It's been a long time since I've actually gone out to seen firework (a bit of resistance on my part, because it's impossible to compare lights in the sky with Thunder Over Louisville). Still, Chitunga wanted to celebrate the 4th, so we found a display at Wilber Cross High School in New Haven and broke our fast at 8:47 with the few items vendors had to sell, including fried dough, which is usually reserved for State Fairs.
The display was great, however, as were the smiles on the faces of children who ooo'd and aaah'd their celebration with each burst of fireflies in the sky. And I have to say they did a remarkable job in New Haven. The fireworks were better than I expected and the cheeseburger did its job.
And now it is time to focus on the week ahead and to spend all of today in preparation of the game (and the USA vs. Japan game at 7 pm).
