And Another Great Way to Organize Kids, Their Writing, Their Tools, Their Toys, and OUR Attendance @cwpfairfield

And Abu welcomes the Young(er) Writers to the Big Imaginations Lab. How do we take attendance? Our pizza boxes of stored materials...what the kids finished yesterday, goes in the box for overnight storage. Whatever boxes are left at the end of morning attendance....

well...

that kid is obviously not there.

Little Lab for Big Imaginations style, taught by Dr. Ryan Colwell.

And we are past the midpoint of the first week of Young Adult Literacy Labs at CWP-Fairfield. This week, 45 young people are writing scripts, delving in poetry, and discovering the value of writing notebooks. They are taking on solo projects, collaborating in group projects, and preparing a prom for Friday (they also get athletic interludes with the twins, just to shake things up).

Meanwhile, the cohort of teachers write, think, research, and look into the labs as a lens for what is possible when the tools are provided to young people to compose in the voices that make the most sense to them.

And it's Thursday. Breathe In. Breathe Out.
